Strong arts learning: Formation of student bomba troupe. Creation of original “stained glass” windows to change the look of the school.

Challenging academic content: History of bomba. Study of light and windows.

Cultural knowledge and pride: Bomba – cultural specific learning. Windows – culture specific images appeared in student designs.

Creation of a community in the school: Strong bonding between teachers and artists. Bomba troupe performed at school events. Windows project changed the appearance of the school.

Addresses community development issues: Bomba troupe has potential for community performances.

Connections made to community: Brought in Afri-Caribe Bomba and Plena group.
